School Community Check-In & Update

Good Evening Samuel Hearne MS Community,

On behalf of the Staff of Samuel Hearne Middle School, we sincerely hope that our Students and Families are continuing to be safe and are well.

Our Staff would like to extend our most sincere thanks to our School Community as Teachers and Students re-engaged in remote learning beginning this week with great success! We understand that the initial process of sorting through password/log-in issues and navigating to the appropriate Google Classroom space may have been challenging, and we appreciate the resilience of our Students and Families as we worked through these concerns together.

TDSB Device & Internet Request Form:

As we continue our remote learning, some Families have asked about access to devices (such as a Chromebook or an iPad) and the Internet to support Student learning. As a reminder, last week Parents/Guardians would have received an email or phone telephone call from the TDSB with a request for information regarding your access to a device and the Internet. If you may have missed that email or telephone call, Parents/Guardians can still complete the online submission form by clicking the link below:

Further, some Families have asked about the timelines for receiving devices/Internet access after submitting the TDSB Device & Internet Request Form. Families expecting a device will receive an email or call from Purolator providing them with a delivery window. Please see this letter from the TDSB Director of Education (Dr. John Malloy) for further details regarding TDSB Remote Learning, including a “Frequently Asked Questions” section.
