Good Evening Samuel Hearne MS Community,
We hope that you and your families/loved ones are doing well, staying safe and healthy.
As we continue through week 2 of our remote learning, we would once again like to extend our most sincere thanks to our School Community. Students continue to engage online with great success and those concerns regarding technology are being worked through together.
Please be reminded to continue to check your email for important updates from the TDSB, from your child’s Teacher and from the School. Google Classroom, Class Dojo and TDSB email continue to be the main spaces for/methods of classroom-based communication, between Students and their Teachers.
Further, please see this letter sent on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 from the TDSB Director of Education (Dr. John Malloy) for further updates and information regarding TDSB Remote Learning. As noted in the letter, you may have heard that Premier Doug Ford announced yesterday that Students will not return to school on Monday, May 4, 2020 as previously indicated. As more information becomes available, details will be shared as soon as possible by the TDSB.
TDSB Device & Internet Request Form:
As we continue our remote learning, some Families have asked about access to devices (such as a Chromebook or an iPad) and the Internet to support Student learning. As a reminder, in previous weeks Parents/Guardians would have received an email, telephone call or postal letter from the TDSB with a request for information regarding your access to a device and the Internet. If you may have missed that communication, Parents/Guardians can still complete the online submission form by clicking the link below:
TDSB Device & Internet Request Form
With this, some Families have asked about the timelines for receiving devices/Internet access after submitting the TDSB Device & Internet Request Form. Families expecting a device will receive an email or call from Purolator providing them with a delivery window. Please click/tap HERE for more information.
