School Community Check-In & Update

Good Morning Samuel Hearne MS Community,

On behalf of the Staff of Samuel Hearne Middle School, we sincerely hope that our Students and Families are continuing to be safe and are well.

It’s hard to believe that we’re already in week 6 of Remote Learning. With this, I see how hard Students and Parents/Guardians are working to adjust to constantly changing times and new norms. I thank you for your efforts related to this.

Please see the sections below for our latest School Community Check-In and Update:

Samuel Hearne MS Staff Messages To Our Students:
The Staff of Samuel Hearne MS truly miss teaching and learning together with our Students. Each day as we work together remotely, we have continued to connect and we would like to share messages from each Staff member to our Students. We have created a video containing these messages, embedded below or by clicking/tapping the links below:

TDSB/TFSS Food For Kids Nutrition Program:Screen Shot 2020-05-11 at 7.46.37 AM

During the school year, Samuel Hearne MS operates a Student Nutrition Program (SNP), which offers food to Students at our School each day of the week. With this in mind, our School has been identified to be a part of the Toronto Foundation for Student Success (TFSS) “Food For Kids Nutrition Program”.

Through this program, each family of our School is eligible for a $50.00 grocery food card (per TDSB child) for local grocery stores. Once Families register online, grocery food cards will be mailed directly to the address provided. Parent/Guardians would have received an email and telephone call from TDSB regarding this last week, where specific details and instructions were shared.

To ensure that each Samuel Hearne MS Family is able to register, the registration information and link is being shared below – please be sure to review and complete this to apply for grocery food cards:

Further, please see the link shared below to access further details and information (including a “Frequently Asked Questions” resource) regarding the Food For Kids Nutrition Program:
