School Community Check-In/Update

Good Evening Samuel Hearne MS Community,

On behalf of the Staff of Samuel Hearne Middle School, we sincerely hope that our Students and Families are continuing to be safe and are well.

This week, we are moving forward with week 10 of remote learning. We thank our School Community for your continued support and collaboration.

Please see the sections below for our latest School Community Check-In and Update:

COLLECTION OF STUDENT PERSONAL BELONGINGS & RETURN OF SCHOOL MATERIALS
  • Samuel Hearne MS Staff are currently coordinating the safe retrieval of Student personal belongings from our school, as well as the return of any outstanding items that belong to our school (e.g. textbooks, library books, jerseys/sports uniforms, etc., noting that technology devices that belong to the TDSB should not be returned at this time)
  • The collection of Student personal belongings and return of school materials will take place between Monday, June 8, 2020 and Friday, June 26, 2020
  • It is not mandatory to come to our school to pick-up personal belongings and Parents/Guardians should only visit our school if absolutely necessary
  • Please click/tap HERE for a letter which shares details and further information regarding this process
  • We are offering 15 minute windows for parents/guardians (only one person per family) to access our school – please click/tap HERE (https://bit.ly/SamuelHearneSchoolAccessVisit) to complete an online survey
    • Interested Parents/Guardians were asked to please complete this survey by Thursday, June 4, 2020
    • Please feel free to submit this survey at this time if you have yet to do so
TERM 2 REPORT CARDS
  • With schools being closed, the distribution of report cards will look a little different this year
  • Since it is not possible to distribute hard copies in school, report cards will be electronically distributed via email
  • For families with no email address on file, a hard copy will be mailed to your address
  • Kindergarten Communication of Learning and Grades 1 to 8 report cards will be sent home electronically between June 22 and 26, 2020
RECOGNIZING OUR GRADE 8 STUDENTS:
  • This June, we will be recognizing our Grade 8 Students as we look to the end of the 2019/2020 school year
  • We are beginning this recognition with this message to our Grade 8 Students displayed at both the front and back of our school:
