International Day of Pink

Samuel Hearne MS Community,

April 11th marks International Day of Pink, when Toronto District School Board staff and students, including staff and students at Samuel Hearne MS, wear pink in support of diversity and to raise awareness to stop discrimination, gender-based bullying, homophobia, and transphobia. Please note that students who do not own any pink clothing may also wear red as a way to show their support.

The Day of Pink is more than just a symbol of a shared belief in celebrating diversity – it’s also a commitment to being open-minded, accepting differences and learning to respect each other.

Congratulations to the Senior Boys Volleyball Team who had a fantastic season coached by Mr. Bojic and Ms. Wicks. They came second in the East Conference Finals and brought home a banner to hang in the school cafeteria! Good job boys!

wall of Wisdom Gr 6

Legendary glass-blower Dale Chihuly  known for his large-scale glass sculptures was the inspiration for this installation-style art piece.

To achieve this goal Grade 6A learned colour theory, pattern and design. Each sculpture was made using the paper mache technique.
